A Letter for Our Daughter

Dear Baby,

Your dad and I almost went to the hospital Friday night.  I was having lots of contractions and pain and the nurse said it might be your way of saying you were ready to come to our family.  The pain subsided after a few hours so we stayed home, but we're hoping we get to meet you tomorrow.  The doctor told us to come to my 38 week appointment with a suitcase.  I'm also supposed to be fasting so I'll be ready to go straight into surgery

We are so excited to meet you.  Cooper keeps saying he wants Sister out!  Your dad talks to you at night and likes to say how much he loves his baby girl.  I'm ready to hold you and start this new chapter of motherhood with you as my daughter.  Everyone in your extended family can't wait to see you and find out what you look like.  We're predicting you'll be small with lots of hair.  We know you're going to be absolutely perfect!

Each time we pray, we ask Heavenly Father to bless you with health and we thank Him for sending you to our family.  You are one loved little girl, and you haven't even officially arrived.

Things might seem overwhelming at first, but know this -- we promise to give you a full life.  We'll teach you about your Heavenly Father and Jesus.  We'll tell you stories about your family who have passed on before you and talk about the Plan of Salvation.  You're big brother will teach you how to play chase, look both ways before crossing the street, and eat Otter Pops.  Your daddy will teach you how to bake brownies, ride a bike, and manage your money (it sounds boring now, but trust's important).  I can't wait to teach you how to paint your nails, shop, and let your light shine as a righteous daughter of God.

Sleep tight little one,
Mom and Dad
